Saturday, July 11 was a special day for dogs...and the people who love them.
Huntsville saw its first public wedding of adoptable shelter dogs, Pound Pup-tials.
Live music by the Dawn Osborne Trio kept the pups in the mood for love.
Onyx, groom Amigo, and the wedding party first paid a visit to the glamorous Kellye McCormick (owner of Tallulah's Salon) to get dressed and primped at her Beauty Paw-lor.

Pictured below are wedding outfits made by Jody Kohler, as well as floral hairpieces designed by Ron Cooper of In Bloom (they also generously provided the arbors and columns for the chapels!)

Pound Pup-tial bride Onyx (adoptable from Huntsville Animal Services, 4950 Triana Blvd., (256) 883-3782) helped Auntie Jen cut the doggie wedding cake baked and designed by Jody Kohler. (Onyx and Auntie Jen got the first licks of cake!)

The reception area also featured a Dog Bar, where dogs could get a celebratory "white" or "red" toast from Dog Barista Katie McDill Stover.

Theresa & Lauren Killough and Eva Nida raised money for Huntsville Animal Services with "Peanut Puppers" and original dog & cat artwork.

And Auntie Jen's Pet Services booth featured Jody's "Puppy Fours" and other gourmet dog treats.

SNAP also had a non-alcoholic beverage area, featuring icy bottled water and coffee donated by Olde Towne Coffee Shoppe in Five Points.

Following the main event, Daisy and Henry Dalton were married at our Las Vegas chapel, "Slot Puppies."
They took their Bow Wow Vows from the ordained Reverend Roberts!

Of course the dogs had to have legit marriages...so Huntsville Friends of Rabbits provided official marriage licenses the bride and groom paw-tographed in animal-friendly ink.
Sam Hathorn's daughter also celebrated the marriage of her Beanie Baby dogs, Wrinkles & Poodle Purse!

And Sam (Sam & Greg's)served wedding cake flavored gelato to raise money for SNAP.

Petco came out with their prize wheel and free pet prizes for the public, and the Greater Huntsville Humane Society brought literature and gifts from their fabulous gift shop!

Madison A.R.F. was there with adoptable dogs and information about their newly formed nonprofit group.

SNAP held a raffle...

...and Auntie Jen's dad, Steve Roberts, watched over the silent auction--a fund raiser for Huntsville Animal Services.
Clementine's donated fruit and cheese trays for the silent auction that were delicious!

A big thanks to Huntsville Event Magazine and WAFF for coming out and covering the big day!
Thank you to everyone who gave their time, money, and--above all--love to Pound Pup-tials & Bow Wow Vows!
